15 GREAT WAYS TO EAT CARNITAS

  1. Tacos – soft flour or corn tortillas filled with pork carnitas and topped with guacamole, Pico de Gallo and shredded cheese.
  2. Traditional Enchiladas – pork carnitas mixed with spicy enchilada sauce placed in soft flour or corn tortillas, wrapped tight and topped with shredded cheese, Pico de Gallo and more sauce.
  3. Salsa Verde Enchiladas – pork carnitas tossed with salsa Verde that’s spooned onto soft flour or corn tortillas, topped with Monterey Jack cheese and wrapped to baked with sour cream sauce on top.
  4. BBQ Pork Sandwich – mix pork carnitas with BBQ Sauce, place BBQ pork on bottom bun and top with fresh coleslaw.

heat it up & serve in minutes

SKILLET (preferred method)

  1. Place 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in skillet and add carnitas.
  2. Heat over medium-high heat for 6 minutes for a crispy authentic apperance or until heated through.

OVEN

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil and sprinkle vegetable oil and a single layer of carnitas.
  3. Cook for 15-18 minutes or until product is heated through.

CHEF NOTE: For crispier carnitas increase the temperature to 400°F for the last 5 minutes in the oven.

MICROWAVE

  1. Place the carnitas onto microwave safe plate in a single layer and cover with a paper towel.
  2. Microwave on high heat for 4 minutes or until product is heated through.

CHEF NOTE: After microwaving, finish the carnitas off in the skillet by heating 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and carefully placing the meat into the pan to crisp the edges for a traditional food truck experience.

FOR AN AUTHENTIC FINISH

Before serving, squeeze the juice of half a lime or 1 tablespoon of orange juice over the hot carnitas, toss and enjoy!

CAUTION PRODUCT WILL BE HOT AFTER HEATING

Make sure that the product is heated thoroughly, and internal temperature reaches 165°F as measured by a food thermometer. Appliances vary; heating times may need adjustment.
